Small town garden design Nottingham refreshes planting and layout on a tight budget - Beeston, UK
This Nottinghamshire property was dominated by overgrown shrubs and many of the original garden features had been lost behind curtains of ivy. They decided to commission a garden designer to refresh the garden design and planting in Spring 2006.
Although the clients were keen to reclaim their garden – they had a limited budget and were concerned that the final garden design needed to be manageable with just a few hours effort each week.
Our solution for this Nottingham garden design was to assess the existing planting - stripping back a lot of the overgrown shrubs to reveal the old brick walls and the shrubs which formed the essential structure of the garden. This lightened the garden considerably and increased the feeling of space without the need for any construction. The borders were widened and replanted in late summer 2006. These photos were taken by our garden designers the following spring show the dramatic results of our subtle intervention.
